Grand Valley Winter Events 2025
The Grand Valley has various events for the entire holiday season, range from 5K races to craft markets, there is something for everyone.
Turkey Trot
On Thanksgiving morning, the Grand Junction Fire Fighters Foundation is holding a community event called the GJ Turkey Trot. With only an 18 minute drive from Korima, this takes place in the heart of Grand Junction and over 2,000 people have attended this Thanksgiving tradition.
If you have little ones that's 8 and under, there is a free Little Gobbler Kids Run at 9:00. These kids will run 1 lap around the track and will receive a small prize for their efforts.
At 9:30, the 5k begins.
The race is as intense as you make it. You can aim for a new personal record or you can take the stroller out and walk the 5k with your kids. Unfortunately, the city ordinance doesn’t allow any animals, even leashed, so they request to leave the furry family at home.
This event serves as the largest fundraiser for the Grand Junction Fire Fighters Foundation, a charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those in need. The purpose of this fundraiser is to give support to firefighters, their families, and local residents who have suffered significant personal hardships or tragedies.
The registration fee is $30.00. This price increases to $40 after Nov 24, 2025 at 12:00am MST. Kids under 5 are free and don’t need to be registered. Ages 5-15 are $20, and 16+ is $30. Included in this price is a guaranteed race shirt if you register before November 23rd.
