“Has this house been engineered by a certified structural engineer?”

“Has this house been engineered by a certified structural engineer?” -Colman This is an important question for any homeowner. When a home is designed by a certified structural engineer, the engineer designs the house from the foundation all the way up to the trusses. This keeps the house perfectly puzzled together, safely and efficiently. In the Grand Valley, this level of engineering isn’t a common practice, but it’s becoming increasingly popular.

For Korima’s community, the answer is Yes -
The homes here are built with the guidance of a certified structural engineer. This lowers the risk of structural failure and long-term problems such as cracked foundations or roof problems. As a result, these homes are safer and more reliable, often holding a higher resale value. There is an added level of trust and confidence that comes from knowing the homes were designed and built by qualified professionals.

“Does this home meet Energy Efficiency standards”

Colman explains an example of how homes are built with thicker walls which helps preserve energy loss and lower heating and cooling costs. Having an Energy Efficiency home can save you, the homeowner, money on electricity and other energy costs.

For Korima’s community, the answer is also Yes - These homes are built to energy efficient standards, and the builders take it a step further by adding a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) system. This system is especially important because Korima homes undergo testing that ensures there are minimal air leaks within the home.

HRV’s continuously exchange stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air to improve indoor air quality. As this new air is brought in, it is filtered and conditioned–either warmed or cooled–which maintains year-round comfort. The HRV also helps regulate indoor humidity levels, reducing condensation that can lead to long-term building damage such as mold.

Together, these features help reduce long-term energy costs while maintaining clean, indoor air.

Place Your Confidence in Copper Creek Builders

As your house gets built, so does your confidence after asking these questions. It’s important to talk to your builder because it can help put you at ease; you’ll know that your door won’t fall off in the middle of the night.
