I wanted to show you a little bit of what is outside your backdoor here at Korima

So just a few minutes away from your home, about 10 minutes, 5-6 miles, 10 minute drive, we are here at Pollock Bench Trailhead. So we're going to hike around here today, show you a little bit of what's in your backyard. And you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy trails like this and many more if you live in Korima.

Let's get going!

Right now we’re kind of secluded into this little big rock here and just hiking through! It's a beautiful day!

Once we park at the Pollock Bench Trailhead there's actually quite a few trails once you get on the trail so you have a couple different options. Today we’re doing a mid range as far as higher, lower, We’re doing the ones right in the middle which is Flume 1. We’ve got the whole family with us today, so you’ll hear them in the background.

But when you come up to the trailhead, Pollock Bench is technically the upper rim. So if you want to get some great views from an upper perspective that is a great one to choose. Right now we’re on Flume 1 which is midway. You get some views of the rocks, you get some really easy walking, if you're into trail running or anything like that this is a good option.

So it's a family friendly hike if you want to come out here with the family or if you’re just looking for a good trail run or just a nice walk. I would recommend, though, coming early in the morning or late in the evening because it can get hot out here. So come prepared. Bring your water, wear your sunscreen and bring your hats. And it’ll be an afternoon or morning full of great views and lots of great fresh air.

Naomi: So after a hot hike we are now getting something cool and refreshing so we’re going to stop by The Wave. Which is in Fruita. It’s a soda shop, so you can customize your drinks. There's lots of different options. So today I got the Lime Ricky Ticky which is one of my favorites. That one and the pom pom. But the one that I got today has starry, true lime, and grape. It's very crispy and very tasty. IF we weren't bumping up against nap time, we would probably head to lunch at either hot tomato or munchies. Two of our favorite stops in Fruita. But today, a beverage is what we’re going to have to do. Which is a great option.
